Privacy and safety.
One page, in a resident's language rather than a compliance officer's. If anything here is unclear, that's a bug in the page.
What we hold
Name, apartment number, and your role in the building (committee, resident, or reception).
Phone number. Neighbours see it only when a transaction connects two people, and the reveal expires on its own.
What you post yourself: announcements, parking requests, items you give away or sell.
An action log (who did what, and when), so a dispute gets settled with a record, not two versions of the story.
What we never hold
Real-time GPS location.
Your phone’s contact list.
A way to search for a resident by phone number.
A searchable directory of buildings.
- Resident
- Sees only their own building's board. Cannot see who read a post, or a neighbour's personal details beyond what they chose to share.
- Committee
- Sees the action log to settle disputes. Cannot see who read a post, and gets no more resident data than it needs.
- Reception
- Can find a resident by name or apartment and call them, and sees what residents asked the desk to expect. Cannot see the budget, the rules, give-away listings or the committee’s notes, and cannot change anyone’s details.
- Us (Knock)
- Technical access to run the service. Our business is selling to the committee, not selling data: nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
Isolation between buildings is enforced in the database itself, not only in the application code. There is no technical path for one building to see another’s data.
We take Amendment 13 to Israel's Privacy Protection Law seriously.
Deleting and exporting your data covers every module, in one request.
Photos uploaded to the app are stripped of EXIF data, including GPS location, immediately on upload.
The app deliberately refuses to publish “who lives where” next to “whose spot is free tonight”, because together those two facts are a list of empty apartments.
Committee announcements have no comments and no reactions, so there's almost nothing to moderate. Where something does need handling, such as abusive content in a listing, there's a way to report it, and it reaches us with a record rather than as one word against another.
